Dosage of Betnovate Ointment

Proper Administration
- Administration: Wash your hands before and after use. Apply a small, thin film of ointment to the affected area only. Rub the ointment in gently until it disappears.
- Quantity: Use the smallest amount of ointment necessary to cover the affected area. The fingertip unit (FTU) method is often used to measure dosage.
- Occlusion: Do NOT cover the treated area with bandages, dressings, or airtight wraps (occlusion) unless specifically instructed by your doctor, as this drastically increases the absorption and risk of side effects.
Duration: The total course of treatment should usually be limited to no more than two weeks of continuous use.
Contraindications of Betnovate Ointment
- Skin Infections: Do NOT use on skin infections (e.g., fungal, bacterial, viral infections like herpes simplex, chickenpox, or shingles) unless combined with appropriate anti-infective treatment.
- Facial Conditions: Do NOT use on acne, rosacea, or perioral dermatitis.
