Product Details

About this item

Enfamil Infant Formula 0-12 Months (663g) is inspired by the composition of breast milk to provide a balanced start for newborns and infants. It features Enfamil's signature "Triple Health Guard" blend, which focuses on three key areas: brain development, immune system support, and physical growth. The formula uses a protein ratio of 60% whey and 40% casein, mimicking the protein profile of mature breast milk to ensure it is gentle on a baby's developing digestive system.

Uses of Enfamil Infant Formula

This formula is used as a primary source of nutrition for infants who are not breastfed, or as a supplement for those who are combination-feeding. It is designed to meet all the nutritional requirements of a baby throughout their first year, supporting rapid brain growth (which is 85% complete by age three) and healthy weight gain.

Active Ingredients/Nutritional Profile

  • DHA (Omega-3 Fat): A clinically proven level of DHA to support normal physical brain and eye development.
  • Dual Prebiotic Blend (GOS & Polydextrose): Specialized dietary fibers that feed "good" bacteria in the gut to support the immune system and soften stools.
  • Vitamins & Minerals: Fortified with 30 essential nutrients, including Iron, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, and Calcium for bone and cognitive health.
  • Choline & Inositol: Important building blocks for brain cell signaling.

How to Use

Preparation

Proper hygiene and dilution are critical for your baby's health.

  1. Sanitize: Wash hands and boil bottles, nipples, and caps for 2 minutes before first use.
  2. Boil Water: Boil fresh water for 2 minutes and let it cool to room temperature (approx. 30 mins) before mixing.
  3. Measure Water: Pour the desired amount of cooled water into the bottle.
  4. Add Powder: Add 1 unpacked, level scoop of powder for every 60ml (2 fl oz) of water. Only use the scoop provided in the tub.
  5. Shake: Cap the bottle and SHAKE WELL until the powder is fully dissolved.
  6. Test: Check the temperature on your wrist; it should feel lukewarm.

Storage and Disposal

  • Prepared Formula: Use immediately or store in the refrigerator at 2–4°C (35–40°F) for no longer than 24 hours.
  • Room Temperature: If left out, discard prepared formula after 2 hours. If feeding has already begun, discard within 1 hour.
  • Unopened/Opened Tub: Store at room temperature. Once opened, use contents within 1 month.

Pharmacist's Advice

Contraindications

  • Do not use if the infant has a confirmed Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA).
  • Not suitable for infants with Galactosemia or severe lactose intolerance.
  • Avoid use in premature infants or those with immune problems unless specifically directed by a doctor, as powdered formulas are not sterile.

Side Effects

  • Common: Mild changes in gas or stool consistency as the baby's gut matures.
  • Serious: Persistent vomiting, abdominal swelling, or bloody stools. In rare cases, premature infants may have an increased risk of Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) when fed cow's milk-based formulas; consult your pediatrician if your baby was born early.
  • What to do: If you notice extreme fussiness, skin rashes, or lack of weight gain, contact your pediatrician immediately to discuss a potential formula switch.

Precautions and Warnings

  • Breastfeeding is best: Formula should be used only on the advice of a healthcare professional.
  • No Microwaving: Never use a microwave to warm the formula; it creates "hot spots" that can cause severe oral burns.
  • Water Quality: Always use safe, clean water. If unsure of tap water quality, boil it for 1–2 minutes and cool to room temperature before mixing.
