Dosage of Flucor Day Tablets

Flucor Day Tablets is an Over-the-Counter (OTC) medication.

Take as directed by the pharmacist or physician.

The typical adult dosage is 1 or 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 4 doses in any 24-hour period.

Proper Administration

• Route: Oral tablet.
• How to Take: Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. It can be taken with or without food.
• Timing: Take during the day, every 4 to 6 hours as needed for symptom control. Avoid taking the last dose too close to bedtime (e.g., within 4 hours) to minimize the risk of Phenylephrine-induced insomnia.

Missed Dose Guidance

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember.
• If it is close to your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Contraindications of Flucor Day Tablets

Do NOT take Flucor Day Tablets if you:

• Have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to Paracetamol, Phenylephrine, or any other ingredients in the tablet.
• Are currently taking or have taken Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) (e.g., certain medicines for depression or Parkinson's disease) within the last 14 days.
• Have severe high blood pressure (hypertension) or severe coronary artery disease.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Warnings

• Pregnancy: Consult your doctor. While Paracetamol is generally considered safe, the decongestant (Phenylephrine) may not be suitable. Use only under the advice of a healthcare professional.
• Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor. Both Paracetamol and Phenylephrine can pass into breast milk. Use only when advised by a healthcare professional.

Side Effects of Flucor Day Tablets

Side effects are generally related to the decongestant component.

• Common Side Effects (Mild and Expected): Nervousness, restlessness, insomnia (difficulty sleeping, especially if taken too close to bedtime), slight increase in heart rate, and mild headache.
• Serious but Rare Side Effects (that may require medical attention):
  • Severe Allergic Reactions: Rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
  • Cardiovascular/CNS Effects: Significant increase in blood pressure, rapid or irregular heartbeat, or dizziness/tremors.
  • Liver Damage: Overdose of Paracetamol can cause severe, life-threatening liver damage.

What to do if side effects occur:

• If you experience symptoms of high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, or any severe allergic reaction, stop the medication immediately and seek emergency medical attention.
• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember.
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

• Maximum Dose: Do NOT exceed the maximum recommended daily dose of Paracetamol (usually 4000 mg in 24 hours). Be careful not to take other Paracetamol-containing products (e.g., other cold remedies) simultaneously.
• Underlying Conditions: Use with caution if you have heart disease, diabetes, an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), or enlarged prostate (prostatic hypertrophy).
• Alcohol: Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medication, as it significantly increases the risk of Paracetamol-related liver damage.
• High Blood Pressure: Monitor your blood pressure, especially if you are prone to hypertension, as the decongestant may increase it.
• Driving: While non-drowsy, exercise caution if you experience dizziness or nervousness.
