Dosage of Zetgel Emulgel

• Dosage: Apply a small amount (about the size of a cherry or walnut, depending on the area) to the affected area.
• Frequency: Gently massage the gel into the skin 3 to 4 times a day or as directed by a healthcare professional.

Proper Administration

• Administration: Apply a thin layer of the Emulgel to the painful area and gently rub it in until the gel is fully absorbed into the skin.
• Hand Washing: Wash your hands immediately after application unless the hands themselves are the area being treated.

Duration of Treatment: The duration depends on the indication; relief for sprains/strains is typically shorter (up to 2 weeks), while arthritis pain may require longer application (up to 3 weeks), but always follow doctor's advice for chronic use.

Contraindications of Zetgel Emulgel

• Hypersensitivity: Do NOT use if you have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to Diclofenac, aspirin, or any other Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), or any components of the gel (Menthol, Methyl Salicylate).
• Asthma: It is contraindicated in patients who have experienced asthma, hives (urticaria), or acute rhinitis after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs (Aspirin-sensitive asthma).
• Skin Integrity: Do not apply to cuts, abrasions, open wounds, infected lesions, or areas of active eczema or dermatitis.
• Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Warnings: Safety for use in the third trimester of pregnancy is not recommended. Consult a doctor before using during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
• Age Restrictions: Not generally recommended for children under 12 years unless advised by a doctor.

Side Effects of Zetgel Emulgel

Side effects are mostly localized at the application site due to low systemic absorption.

• Common Side Effects (Mild and Expected): Localized skin reactions such as mild rash, itching, redness (erythema), dry skin, or a mild, transient burning sensation at the site of application (due to Menthol/Methyl Salicylate).
• Serious but Rare Side Effects (That May Require Medical Attention): Signs of a serious allergic reaction (swelling of the face/throat, wheezing, hives), or systemic effects like unusual or increased pain at the application site, nausea, or ringing in the ears. If severe side effects occur, stop use immediately and seek medical attention.

Precautions and Warnings of Zetgel Emulgel

• External Use Only: This is for external application only. Do not take by mouth or allow it to contact eyes, nose, mouth, or mucous membranes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with clean water.
• Combination with Oral NSAIDs: Avoid concurrent use with oral NSAIDs (like ibuprofen or aspirin) unless directed by a physician, as this can increase the risk of systemic side effects.
• Dressings and Heat: Do not apply tight or air-tight occlusive bandages over the treated area. Avoid applying heat (like heating pads) immediately before or after application, as this can increase absorption and risk of side effects.

Sun Sensitivity (Photosensitivity): Diclofenac can cause increased sun sensitivity. Avoid exposure of the treated area to direct sunlight or tanning beds during treatment.
