Directions for Application

• Clean and disinfect the wound thoroughly, then cover it with an appropriate therapeutic ointment and a primary sterile dressing pad.
• Unroll the gauze bandage slowly and smoothly around the limb or body part, overlapping each previous layer by approximately half its width to ensure even coverage.
• Secure the free end firmly using medical adhesive tape, bandage clips, or by gently tying the split ends.

Contraindications of a Gauze Bandage

• Direct Open Wounds: Do not apply a non-sterile open-woven gauze roll directly onto raw, heavily weeping, or deep open wounds. Always lay down a non-adherent, sterile primary dressing pad first to prevent cotton threads from embedding into the healing tissue.

Side Effects of a Gauze Bandage

• Tissue Trauma: Granulation tissue can accidentally entangle within the open cotton threads if applied directly to an unshielded healing wound surface, causing pain and bleeding during removal.
• Skin Maceration: Wrapping the bandage too tightly over highly exudative or wet wounds can trap excessive moisture, leading to localized skin softening or breakdown.

Precautions and Warnings of a Gauze Bandage

• Circulation Check: Avoid overtightening the wrap. Regularly monitor the skin digits or limbs below the bandaged area for signs of numbness, coldness, tingling, or blue discoloration.
• Single-Use Consumable: This product is intended strictly for single-patient, single-use application. Never wash, reuse, or store a uncoiled bandage roll to prevent severe cross-contamination risks.
