Artemether and lumefantrine oral suspension is a suspension of Artemether and Lumefantrine in a suitable vehicle.
This is used for the treatment of acute uncomplicated malarial attack and multi drug resistance strains of plasmodium falciparum
Ingredient: Artemether 20mg, Lumefantrine 120mg per 5ml
- Shake bottle to loosen powder, Add 10mls of water to totally dissolve all the powder, then add water to the indicated mark.
- Dosage is based on child weight
5kg-14kg- 5mls
15kg-24kg- 10mls
- To be taken after food.
- Day 1:- 5mls/10mls initially and 5mls/10mls again after 8 hours
- Day 2 & 3:- 5mls/10mls to be taken two times daily spaced 12 hours apart.
Take with a fatty/oily meal
If the patient vomits the dose within 1-2 hours, give another dose.
