Contraindications of Coveram

Do NOT take Coveram if you:

• Are pregnant (especially in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters) or breastfeeding.
• Have a history of angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, or tongue) from previous ACE inhibitor use.
• Suffer from severe hypotension, cardiogenic shock, or severe kidney/liver disease.
• Have diabetes and are currently taking Aliskiren.

Side Effects of Coveram

• Common: Swelling of the ankles (edema), headache, dizziness, drowsiness, and a persistent dry cough.
• Serious (Rare): Sudden wheezing, chest pain, or severe skin rashes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome).
• Action: If you experience swelling of the face or throat, stop use and seek emergency medical attention immediately.

Precautions and Warnings

• Medical Consultation: Inform your doctor if you have aortic stenosis (narrowing of the heart's main artery) or kidney problems.
• Lifestyle: Limit alcohol intake as it can enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effect and increase dizziness.
• Surgery: Tell your surgeon you are on Coveram if you are due for general anesthesia.
