The usual dose for children is 5-20 mg once daily (for inflammation of the food pipe (erosive esophagitis) and acid reflux (gastroesophageal reflux disease).
This medicine is generally used for a period of 8 weeks for ulcers in the upper part of the small intestine (duodenal ulcer), 8 weeks for stomach ulcers, and 4 weeks for digestive disorder in which stomach acid flows back into the food pipe (gastroesophageal reflux disease). It takes 1-2 hours for this medicine to start its action. This medicine is not known to be addictive or habit-forming.
