Dosage of PIC Thermogel Reusable Cushion 20x30cm

PIC Thermogel Reusable Cushion 20x30cm is an Over-the-Counter (OTC) device.

Apply for 15-20 minutes per session, 2 to 3 times a day, as needed for symptom relief.

Proper Administration

• Route: Topical application (Thermotherapy or Cryotherapy).
• How to Prepare (Cold): Place the cushion in the freezer for at least 2 hours. Remove and insert it into the protective cover before application.
• How to Prepare (Heat - Bain-Marie): Immerse the cushion in hot water (maximum 60 degree C for 5 to 10 minutes. Test temperature, then insert into the cover.
• How to Prepare (Heat - Microwave): Place the cushion in a microwave-safe container, cover completely with water, and heat carefully (follow specific wattage instructions). Test temperature and insert into the cover.
• How to Apply: Secure the cushion to the affected area (back, stomach, shoulder, thigh) using the adjustable elastic strap.
• Timing: Apply for a maximum of 20 minutes per session.

Contraindications of PIC Thermogel Reusable Cushion 20x30cm

Do NOT use the PIC Thermogel Reusable Cushion 20x30cm if the patient:

• Cold Therapy: Do not use on people with Raynaud's disease, severe circulation problems, or cold hypersensitivity.
• Heat Therapy: Do not use on open wounds, acute inflammation, or bleeding areas. Do not use if you have severe nerve damage or impaired skin sensation (e.g., due to diabetes).

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Warnings

• General: Use is generally safe, but avoid applying excessive heat or cold directly to the abdomen during pregnancy without consulting a doctor.

Side Effects of PIC Thermogel Reusable Cushion 20x30cm

Side effects occur only due to improper application or excessive heat/cold duration.

• Common Side Effects (Mild and Expected): Temporary redness or a tingling/numbness sensation (due to cold).
• Serious but Rare Side Effects (that may require medical attention):
  • Thermal Burns: Applying heat that is too hot, or applying the frozen pack directly to the skin without the cover for too long, can cause localized severe burns or frostbite.
  • Aggravated Inflammation: Applying heat to a recent, acute injury (within 48 hours) will worsen inflammation and swelling.

What to do if severe symptoms occur:

• If the skin turns deep red, blanches, or blistering occurs, remove the cushion immediately and seek emergency medical treatment.
• If dizziness or fainting occurs, remove the heat and rest.

Precautions and Warnings of PIC Thermogel Reusable Cushion 20x30cm

• NEVER APPLY DIRECTLY TO SKIN: Always insert the Thermogel cushion into the provided cover or wrap it in a thin towel before application to prevent thermal injury (burns/frostbite).
• Temperature Check: Always test the temperature of the cushion with your hand before applying it to the treatment area.
• Limit Duration: Each application should not exceed 20 minutes. Wait at least 20 minutes before repeating the application.
• Microwave Safety: Follow microwave instructions precisely to prevent the gel pack from rupturing or overheating.
• Do Not Ingest: The gel contents are non-toxic but should not be ingested. If the sachet breaks, dispose of the gel and sachet safely.
