About this item

Calpol Infant Oral Suspension (100ML) is a pleasant-tasting oral solution containing Paracetamol as its active ingredient (120 mg per 5 ml). Its formulation is specifically designed for the sensitive digestive systems of infants and young children, providing rapid and reliable relief from common childhood discomforts. Calpol Infant Suspension effectively lowers high temperatures and eases various types of mild to moderate pain, helping the child feel more comfortable and promoting rest. It is often the first line of treatment recommended by pediatricians and pharmacists for managing pain and fever in this age group.

How to Use

Dosage of Calpol Infant Oral Suspension

This is an Over-The-Counter (OTC) medicine. The dose is strictly determined by the child's age or weight.

  • Babies 2 - 3 months: A single 2.5 ml dose (only if fever is due to immunisation). A second 2.5 ml dose may be given 4 to 6 hours later, if necessary. If the fever is not due to immunisation, consult a doctor.
  • Infants 3 - 6 months: Give 2.5 ml.
  • Children 6 - 24 months: Give 5 ml.
  • Children 2 - 4 years: Give 7.5 ml (one and a half spoons/syringes).
  • Children 4 - 6 years: Give 10 ml (two spoons/syringes).
  • Do not exceed four doses in any 24 hours.

Proper Administration

  • Administration: For oral use only. Always use the syringe or measuring spoon supplied with the medicine to ensure the dose is accurately measured.
  • Frequency: For children over 3 months, repeat the dose every 4 to 6 hours as necessary. DO NOT give more than four doses in 24 hours.
  • Shaking: Shake the bottle thoroughly for at least 10 seconds before measuring the dose.

Duration: Do not give this medicine for more than 3 days without seeking medical advice.

  • Common Side Effects (Mild and Rare): Allergic reactions (rash, itching), very rarely blood disorders.

  • Overdose Risk: Accidental overdose is the primary risk and can be fatal. Adhere strictly to the maximum daily dose and interval.
