Dosage of Wellbaby Multivitamin Drops

Wellbaby Multivitamin Drops is an Over-the-Counter (OTC) supplement.

Babies (from 4 to 24 months): Administer 0.5 ml twice daily, as marked on the syringe, or as directed by a paediatrician.

Proper Administration

• Route: Oral liquid drops.
• How to Use:
  1. Shake the bottle well before use.
  2. Insert the syringe into the bottle, then hold the bottle upside down.
  3. Draw out 0.5 ml of liquid as marked on the syringe.
  4. Carefully administer the drops onto the baby's tongue, ideally just before a feed.
  5. Rinse the syringe thoroughly with clean water and dry it after each use.
• Timing: Administer twice daily, ensuring consistent spacing.

Missed Dose Guidance

• If you miss a dose, simply resume the regular dosage ($0.5\text{ ml}$ twice daily) the following day. Do not take two doses at once.

Contraindications of Wellbaby Multivitamin Drops

Do NOT give Wellbaby Multivitamin Drops if the baby:

• Is under 4 months of age (unless advised otherwise by a paediatrician).
• Has a known allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients (including iron, vitamins, or malt extract).
• Is already drinking 500 ml (approx. 1 pint) or more of infant formula daily, as the formula already has vitamins added.

• General: This product is for infants and children and is not intended for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Side Effects of Wellbaby Multivitamin Drops

Side effects are rare when the product is used as directed.

• Common Side Effects (Mild and Expected): In rare cases, some infants may experience mild gastrointestinal discomfort (upset stomach, minor change in stool colour/consistency) due to the iron content.
• Serious but Rare Side Effects (that may require medical attention):
  • Iron Overdose: CRITICAL WARNING: This product contains iron, which if taken in excess, is seriously harmful to very young children. DO NOT exceed the recommended daily dose.
  • Allergic Reactions: Persistent rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
  • Staining: The iron content may cause minor, temporary staining of teeth or gums, which can be minimized by administering the drops before a feed.

What to do if side effects occur:

• For mild stomach upset, ensure the drops are given with or after a feed.
• If you suspect an overdose (e.g., severe vomiting, drowsiness) or observe any signs of a severe allergic reaction, seek emergency medical attention immediately.
• Wipe any spillage immediately, as the iron content can stain skin or fabric.
