Dosage of Elastoplast Sensitive Plasters

Elastoplast Sensitive Plasters are an Over-the-Counter (OTC) consumable.

Use one plaster per wound, once daily, or as needed.

Proper Administration

• Route: Topical application to the skin.
• How to Use:
  1. Clean the wound with an antiseptic (e.g., Elastoplast Wound Spray) and dry the skin area thoroughly.
  2. Remove the backing from the plaster.
  3. Apply the plaster without stretching, ensuring the non-stick wound pad completely covers the cut or graze.
  4. Smooth down the plaster to ensure all edges are securely adhered to the skin.
• Timing: Apply immediately after cleansing the wound.

Contraindications of Elastoplast Sensitive Plasters

Do NOT use Elastoplast Sensitive Plasters if:

• The wound is deep, severely bleeding, or shows signs of infection (redness, warmth, pain, swelling, pus).
• You are attempting to reuse the plaster (use only once).
• You are allergic to any component of the plaster (though hypoallergenic, individual reactions are still possible).

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Warnings

• General: As a non-medicated external plaster, Elastoplast Sensitive Plasters are safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side Effects of Elastoplast Sensitive Plasters

Side effects are minimized by the hypoallergenic formulation.

• Common Side Effects (Mild and Expected): None typically expected when used correctly.
• Serious but Rare Side Effects (that may require medical attention):
  • Severe Allergic Reaction: Persistent redness, itching, or swelling underneath or around the plaster (requires removal and consultation).

What to do if side effects occur:

• If irritation or rash occurs, remove the plaster immediately, clean the skin, and consult a pharmacist or doctor.

Precautions and Warnings of Elastoplast Sensitive Plasters

• Clean Wound First: Always clean the wound and gently dry the surrounding skin before applying the plaster to prevent infection and ensure adhesion.
• Change Regularly: Change the plaster every 24 to 48 hours, or more often if it becomes wet, dirty, or starts to peel.
• Not Waterproof: These plasters are breathable but not completely waterproof. If the area is likely to get wet during bathing or showering, use a dedicated waterproof plaster from the Elastoplast range.
• Apply Without Stretching: Apply the plaster without stretching it or creating creases, as this can affect adhesion and cause skin irritation.
• Consult Doctor: Seek medical professional help for deep cuts, animal bites, serious burns, or wounds that do not show signs of healing.

The plasters are made of soft, breathable, hypoallergenic material with a non-stick wound pad and skin-friendly adhesive. They are Latex-Free. They are supplied in boxes of assorted strips (e.g., 20 or 40 strips) or as cut-to-size rolls. It is an Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medical Consumable.
