Application Instructions
- Shake Well: IMPORTANT: Nevan is a suspension. You must shake the bottle well before each use to ensure the medicine is evenly mixed.
- Wash Hands: Thoroughly wash your hands before application.
- Prepare: Tilt your head back and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
- Apply: Place one (1) drop into the pocket. Do not let the dropper tip touch your eye, eyelid, or any other surface.
- Press: Close your eye and gently press the corner of your eye (near the nose) for 1 minute to prevent the liquid from draining away.
- Repeat: If prescribed for both eyes, repeat the steps for the other eye.
Proper Usage Tips
- Frequency: Usually applied three (3) times daily, or as strictly directed by your ophthalmic surgeon.
- Schedule: Start using the drops exactly when your doctor instructs—often beginning one day before surgery and continuing for several weeks after.
- Contact Lenses: Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment with Nevan unless specifically authorized by your doctor, as the preservative (Benzalkonium chloride) can discolor soft lenses and the eye may be too sensitive after surgery.
How to Store and Dispose of Nevan
- Storage: Store at room temperature (below 30°C). Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
- Expiration: Discard the bottle 4 weeks (28 days) after opening to ensure sterility and prevent infection.
