Contraindications of Ozempic

Do NOT take Ozempic if you:

• Have a personal or family history of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (MTC).
• Have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
• Have a known allergy to Semaglutide.
• Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant (discontinue 2 months before conception).

Side Effects of Ozempic

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and constipation. These typically decrease as your body adjusts.
• Serious (Rare): Pancreatitis (severe stomach pain that won't go away), vision changes, or kidney problems.
• Action: To manage nausea, eat smaller meals and avoid high-fat foods. If you experience severe allergic reactions or persistent vomiting, contact your doctor immediately.

Precautions and Warnings

• Thyroid Tumors: In animal studies, Ozempic caused thyroid tumors. Monitor for lumps or swelling in the neck.
• Pancreatitis: Inform your doctor if you have a history of pancreas or kidney issues.
• Hypoglycemia: While Ozempic rarely causes low blood sugar alone, the risk increases if you also take insulin or sulfonylureas.
