Dosage of Dettol Antiseptic Liquid 

Dettol Antiseptic Liquid  is an Over-the-Counter (OTC) product. Do not use undiluted.

Use according to the dilution instructions provided on the packaging.

Typical Dilution Guidelines (Always use a measuring device for accuracy):

• Wound Cleansing (Cuts, Bites, etc.): Dilute one tablespoonful of Dettol (approx. 15 mL) in one pint (approx. 500 mL) of water.
• Personal Hygiene (Bathing): Use two teaspoonfuls of Dettol (approx. 10 mL) diluted in two pints (approx. 1 Litre) of warm water.
• Household Disinfection (Surfaces/Floors): Use 1 capful (13.5 mL) of Dettol in 270 mL of water (or a capful per bucket for general mopping).

Proper Administration

• Route: Topical (skin application, bathing, surface cleaning).
• How to Use: Add the required amount of Dettol concentrate to the correct volume of clean water. Apply the diluted solution by washing, bathing, or wiping the surface.
• Frequency: Use as needed for hygiene and cleaning tasks.

Missed Dose Guidance

• Not applicable, as this is an antiseptic and disinfectant used on demand.

Contraindications of Dettol Antiseptic Liquid 1L

Do NOT use Dettol Antiseptic Liquid  if you:

• Have a known hypersensitivity or allergy to Chloroxylenol or any of the other ingredients (such as Pine oil, d-limonene, or Benzyl alcohol).
• Have eczema or similar dry skin conditions.
• NEVER USE UNDILUTED on the skin.
• DO NOT SWALLOW.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Warnings

• Pregnancy: Dettol Antiseptic Liquid can be used during pregnancy, as systemic exposure from topical use of Chloroxylenol is negligible.
• Breastfeeding: The application of the liquid to the breast is not recommended during breastfeeding, as it is unknown whether the active ingredient or its metabolites are excreted in human milk.

Side Effects of Dettol Antiseptic Liquid 

Side effects are generally limited to localized skin reactions.

• Common Side Effects (Mild and Expected): Mild local irritation, especially if used undiluted or in high concentrations.
