Take as directed by the pharmacist or physician. Typically, it is taken twice daily (morning and evening). Your doctor will likely start you on a low dose and gradually increase it.

Contraindications of Uperio

Do NOT take Uperio if you:

• Are pregnant (can cause fatal harm to the fetus) or breastfeeding.
• Have a history of angioedema (swelling of the face/throat) related to previous ACE or ARB therapy.
• Are currently taking an ACE inhibitor (e.g., Lisinopril). You must wait at least 36 hours after stopping an ACE inhibitor before starting Uperio.
• Have severe liver disease or are taking Aliskiren (if you have diabetes).

Side Effects of Uperio

• Common: Low blood pressure (hypotension), dizziness, cough, or altered kidney function tests.
• Serious (Rare): Severe allergic reactions (angioedema) or high potassium levels (hyperkalemia).
• Action: If you feel extremely lightheaded or notice swelling of the lips/tongue, seek emergency medical attention.

Precautions and Warnings

• Washout Period: The 36-hour gap between an ACE inhibitor and Uperio is strictly mandatory to prevent life-threatening swelling.
• Blood Monitoring: Your doctor will regularly check your blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium levels.
• Interaction: Inform your pharmacist if you take lithium or NSAIDs like Ibuprofen.
