Administration

• Proper Use: Squeeze a small amount (about the size of a cherry or walnut, depending on the area) and rub gently into the skin.
• Frequency: Apply 3 to 4 times daily.
• Post-Application: Wash your hands thoroughly unless they are the area being treated.

Dosage

For this OTC medication, use as directed on the packaging. Do not use for more than 14 days for muscle/joint injuries unless recommended by a doctor.

Storage and Disposal

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use. Dispose of the aluminum or plastic tube responsibly; do not empty the gel into the drain.

Quick Tips

• For the fastest results, apply as soon as you feel the onset of pain or injury.
• Do not cover the treated area with airtight (occlusive) dressings or bandages.
• Avoid taking a hot bath or shower immediately before or after application, as this can increase absorption too rapidly.
• Complement treatment with the R.I.C.E. method (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) for sports injuries.

Contraindications

Do not use Voltarol Back & Muscle Pain if you:

• Are allergic to Diclofenac or other NSAIDs (e.g., Aspirin, Ibuprofen).
• Are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.
• Are under 14 years of age.
• Have ever experienced an asthma attack or hives after taking NSAIDs.

Side Effects

• Common: Mild skin rash, itching, or redness at the application site.
• Serious (Rare): Severe skin peeling, wheezing, or swelling of the face. Discontinue use and seek medical help immediately if these occur.

Precautions and Warnings

• Sun Exposure: Treated skin may be more sensitive to sunlight; avoid tanning beds and direct sun.
• Damaged Skin: Do not apply to cuts, open wounds, or eczematous skin.
• Combination Use: Do not use with other topical Diclofenac products or oral NSAIDs without consulting a pharmacist.
